This is What Happened to My Cool Photo.
I don’t want a little photo that gives me the option of “Alt text”
This has to be a new glitch but I worry that some genius in product development thinks it’s a feature.
Instead of being able to adjust the size of the image I’d like to feature at the top of my new story — which by the way, wasn’t going to be about photo size but here we are — I get one small photo that offers the option of “Alt Text”. I did what any self-respecting writer-type person would do: I asked the Google.
Now, granted, this is a pretty nifty idea for the sight-impaired although I’m not imagining that’s a huge part of my regular readership (show of hands?). However, I’d be delighted to take the extra couple of minutes to add a pithy description to my image.
That’s what I do. Write.
But that’s not the point. The point is that I want the option to have that photo appear much larger than it currently does. Look at the photo above. That sky screams for size, amiright? And the story I was all set to…
