Well, That Took Long Enough
Two years, eight months, and two days to be exact
I’m just surprised it’s taken this long for us to join the Covid club. We live right at the epicenter of the initial outbreak as well as every variant that’s come down the pike since then. We’re the ones who saw tent hospitals being built ten minutes away in Central Park. We lay awake listening to the endless wailing sirens for weeks as refrigerator trucks were parked behind Mt. Sinai hospital when there was no longer room in the morgue for the dead.
In those days we were both terrified and resigned. Given the whirl of contradictory information, there was no way to know how to stay safe. Remember wiping down all the groceries with disinfectant? Good times. A very authoritative young doctor on YouTube assured us all that by washing our hands and never touching our faces we would remain healthy.
Oops.
