Call me crazy (quietly), but every so often I get the utterly mad idea to create some new something daily for a set period of time. I blame AleXander. My partner in life and art is the beautiful lunatic who keeps setting up these monthly projects where he either writes one new very short story a day or creates a new photomontage daily.

Here’s one of those gems from 2013.

My version of this madness has been to write a story a day for a month. In January 2020 (as the novel Coronavirus was revving up to come and stay) my eerily prescient daily writing project was to create a fictional obituary. For 31 days, I invented people who had never lived and then killed them off in a variety of ways.

Imagine my twisted chagrin when the first cases of what we now call Covid began killing people the next month and then shut the whole damned world down the month after that. Oops.
