I’m also unemployed but my gig was only 18 months. I’ve never found work that kept me for 20 years; it’s almost impossible to find that kind of work anymore unless you’re a brain surgeon or something. My dad worked at the same Ford Dealership for 20 years, but he wasn’t very happy about it.

When I got hired at this last job no one told me it was going to be temporary; I thought I’d finally landed the super lotto of jobs with great pay and benefits at a prestigious medical college.

Now I’m a Medium writer, writing to other Medium writers.
