That “Democrat” was a cranky old white independent Senator from Vermont and from where I stood at numerous rallies, Bernie did inspire that kind of passion. He was the first and only politician for whom I did fund-raising and phone banking.

He had his blind spots, but the man has always put the interests of the constituents ahead of donors. I’ll never understand his vote for the current shitshow in Ukraine, however.

But the, ahem, Democrats were more focused on keeping him away from the Oval office than Trump.

So, here we are. Happy mid-terms, Democrats.

You’re absolutely right about Trump and his supporters. Democrats will never inspire that kind of loyalty because they don’t represent the interests of the people. Their loyalty lies with the donors.

We are so fucked.
