Oh, Nancy, you are singing my song! I regularly add to my nightly gratitude list the fact that where I live allows me to be car-free (NYC).

We seem to think cars represent freedom when the truth is that they trap us in a death spiral.

Nearly a hundred years of car culture is not going to let go of its grip on the steering wheel without a fight. It's going to get even uglier.
