Oh, Glenna, can I EVER relate! I'm two months into the new job and I have gone through everything you described. My predecessor on the job "trained" me in three hour-long Skype sessions which were extra challenging because he has a very strong accent. I felt like a jerk saying over and over that I didn't understand this or that thing he'd tell me.

Your situation, however, is so much more dire. My heart goes out to you and your family. I wish I had more to offer than sympathy.
