LOVE this! I think that shaving my head completely to-the-skin bald when I was 42 was my gauntlet thrown to the world that I would not disappear. I still buzz the left side of my hair off every six weeks or so and bleach it white as it grows out. Admittedly this is easier to get away with in NYC. I got shit for the bald thing back in Ohio.
