Great read! One of the signature pleasures of living in New York is getting to see movies like “The Warriors” on the big screen. What an experience to delve into the New York that was and then come out to the New York that is.
Fun fact: The station used in the movie as 96th Street is actually the 72nd Street station (with a sign saying 96 covering the 72) and the Gray’s Papaya on the corner across the street in the movie is still there.
Thanks for writing this; it was delicious to re-live a great movie and to learn the timeless roots of the story.
