Great piece and I’m really glad you got to see Dylan while he’s still with us. My partner’s seen him many times over the years but I hadn’t seen him until about a year ago when we ponied up the $85 for not great seats at the Beacon Theater here in NYC.

WHAT a show (although I don’t recall a ban on screens which didn’t make that much of an appearance regardless)!

He’d go back and forth between the piano where he’d pound out the most wild and diverse “versions” of his hits, completely changing the tunes so I’d be sitting there and suddenly realize, hey, that’s “Tangled up and Blue”! Then he’d stand at the mic and do one of his songs from the album of standards he recently put out, doing these strange dips and moves.

It was mesmerizing and unmissable. So I’m glad we didn’t miss him and that you didn’t either.
